Why invest in jewelry when gold can be traded digitally? Worth it ba? Many Filipinos treat gold jewelry as a form of savings, but liquidating it is slow, inconvenient, and worst, often below market value.
Imagine, there are 7,000+ pawnshops in the PH, yet selling jewelry still requires appraisal, negotiation, and discounts. Babaratin ka pa all the time. Digital gold, on the other hand, can be sold instantly online at live market prices. So why do people still default to jewelry? Is it because
Cultural and emotional value, yong “I can wear it, I can pass it to kids”
Lack of awareness about digital alternatives siguro?
Distrust or unfamiliarity with digital financial products esp madaming online scams?
Or maybe something else?
When you invest daw, dapat rational ka pero pagdating sa jewelry, are we? I feel like we value tangible things more, undervalue inconvenience, and make decisions influenced by culture and sentiment, not spreadsheets. Personal opinion lang to ha. I know it's difficult to go against your upbringing.
Curious how others think about this: Do you treat jewelry as an investment?
