Chipotle CEO Tells Portion Complainers: Just Ask for More https://www.dexerto.com/food/chipotle-ceo-says-customers-should-just-ask-for-more-food-amid-portion-debate-3361142/
Chipotle’s serving size debate is back in the spotlight after CEO Scott Boatwright addressed viral complaints in a recent interview with Yahoo Finance. The comments come as the brand continues to face scrutiny online over portion sizes, with TikTok users repeatedly posting bowls they claim look smaller than expected.
The serving size controversy started back in 2024, when viral TikTok videos sparked backlash over what customers described as inconsistent portions. Some users began filming their orders in-store, claiming it led to larger servings, while others accused locations of “skimping.” Chipotle has consistently denied making any official portion cuts, but has acknowledged that some stores needed retraining to ensure consistency across locations.
During the interview, Boatwright pushed back on the criticism and said customers looking for more food don’t need to overthink it. “If you want more, you should ask for a little more. I promise you, there’s never a team member on that line who is going to say no to you,” he said. “We will continue to put heaping spoonfuls of food and bowls in. It has always been our brand ethos and it is still to this day. We serve big, beautiful bowls and burritos, no questions asked,” he said.
